Founded in 1942, Age Concern Nottingham and Nottinghamshire is committed to the welfare of older people and to maintaining their individual dignity and value to society. As part of a national federation of Age Concern charities we work on a local level for local people. We currently employ around 150 specialist staff, work with over 200 volunteers and support over 50,000 elderly people each year in Nottingham and Nottinghamshire. All the money we raise goes towards Age Concern services, such as: our day centres, lunch clubs, education services, home maintenance project, hospital discharge scheme, welfare rights advice, mentoring and counselling services, and support schemes for carers.

We trace the witnesses, find the evidence, stand up in court, publish the facts and fight for justice, around the globe. The people that Reprieve fight for are all poor and state funding for their legal representation is either derisory or non-existent. Without Reprieve’s involvement, these people would have little prospect of a fair hearing.”
